Dear Parents and Seniors:
The Wethersfield Chapter of Dollars
for Scholars is accepting applications for the 2010 Scholarship program.
All Wethersfield residents graduating from any local, regional, public
or private high school may apply for an award if they are planning to
attend a 4- year college or university, 2-year college, or a vocational
or technical school.
This is
the 36th year for the Wethersfield Dollars for Scholars
program. Last year the Scholarship awards totaled $120,600. A broad
range of awards exist, including general citizen's awards, memorial
awards, and other awards to recipients who meet the distinct
requirements of specific donors. Awards are given on the basis of
financial need, scholastic achievement, community service and
educational goals. Students of all scholastic achievement and family
income levels are encouraged to apply.
In order to qualify
for a scholarship you must complete and submit the
application
form with the required information to your high school
counselor and mail the financial questionnaire to Scholarship America in
Minnesota by February 12, 2010. There will be no exceptions to this
requirement.
The applicant is responsible to
complete the following:
1. Mail your confidential Financial Assistance Questionnaire (parent
form) along with a check for $5.00 payable directly to: Deb
Fitchner Scholarship America P.O. Box 297 St. Peter, MN 56082 by
February 12, 2010. This information is processed and retained by
Scholarship America in Minnesota.
2. Submit the completed white scholarship application to your guidance
counselor by February 12, 2010. Please note that any application
submitted after that date will not be considered.
