Thursday, March 25, 2010 -  12:30pm-6:00pm WHS Cafeteria 

It’s a win-win opportunity! You can clean out your closets and we can provide the class of 2010 with a safe, substance-free graduation party that they will remember for the rest of their lives.  

Items Accepted Include:

Men's, Women's & Children's Clothing - All sizes and seasons. Items should be clean and ready to wear.

Accessories: Handbags, Belts, Briefcases, Shoes, Gloves, Hats, Backpacks, Ties, Scarves

Household Items:  Blankets, Table Cloths, Drapery, Pillows, Small Rugs, Comforters, Bed Sheets, Curtains, Towels

Toys:  Beanie Babies, Rag Dolls, Stuffed Animals, Action Figures, Cars, Trucks, Dolls. Hard toys should fit in a 24'X24' box.

Now that the New Year is here, we ask that you consider making a donation to the Safe Graduation Party.  It will be a wonderful and safe night for your child and their friends. Any donations can be mailed to Sheila Verre, WHS Safe Grad Fundraising Chairperson, 98 Windmill Hill, Wethersfield, CT  06109.

We continue to look to the generous businesses of Wethersfield and surrounding towns for financial support.  Historically, the business community has played a huge role in the success of our fundraising efforts, and we are hopeful that this year will be just the same.  If you know of a business that might be able to support our efforts, please let one of the Fundraising committee members know. 

ARE YOU READY FOR ZUMBA?????? 

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 23, 2010.  The Wethersfield Community Center banquet room has been donated for our use.  Zumba is a fitness class that has dance elements with a latin infusion.  “Ditch the workout, join the party!”  Cindy Riccio, a Zumba certified instructor, has volunteered her time for this fundraiser!  There will be a demo session from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and a class from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Wear whatever you would wear to workout – sneakers, sweats, shorts… We are asking for a $10.00 donation, 100% of which will go to Safe Grad!  Call your friends!!!!  This is for ALL fitness levels, ages 16 and above.

SAFE GRAD DECORATING NIGHTS AT WINGSITE DISPLAYS!!! 

Please join us in the decorating process for our event every other Wednesday from 6pm - 8pm, upcoming dates are as follows: February 3rd, February 17, March 3rd, March 10^th.  Wingsite Display’s address is 1060 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield.

CLASS OF 2010 LAWN SIGNS ARE BACK!!!!

JUNIOR PARENTS

In order for senior parents to attend the graduation ceremony, we desperately need Junior parent assistance from 6:30 to 9:30pm on the evening of graduation.  Specifically, we need you to pick up donated food at local area restaurants and drop it off at the Community Center.  We need as many parent volunteers as possible.  Please contact Eileen Montross at 860-529-7745 or e.montross@cox.net to sign up to volunteer.  We thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation to make this a memorable evening for our seniors and their families. 

SENIOR PARENTS

The time has come!  Our Seniors will soon be graduating and celebrating their accomplishment.  The Safe Graduation Committee has been working diligently since last summer raising funds and planning the 2010 Safe Graduation party which is free for all our graduating Seniors.  In order for this party to be a memorable and successful one, we need over 100 Senior parent volunteers. 

Volunteer responsibilities include: student check-in, monitoring entrances, exits, and rooms, and general clean-up.  Think of signing up with a spouse, friend, or neighbor!  Graduating seniors are always excited and look forward to this party as a final hoorah with all their friends.  IT CAN’T HAPPEN WITHOUT YOU!
