If you would like to help your student…
IN
SCHOOL
Extra Help
is available from teachers. The student should arrange a
mutually agreeable time.
Reading
Center: Students can ask Mrs. Lavoie or Mrs.
Fitzgerald for passes to the Reading Center (room 507 during
their study halls. They are certified
reading teachers who are there to help students.
Computer
Lab: WHS computer labs are open from 2-3 p.m. No passes are
required after school. Students can conduct appropriate
research on the internet, or access programs for word processing
and spreadsheets. To go during a study hall, the student must
get a pass from the teacher whose subject they intend to work
on, and space must be available.
Media
Center (Library): Students may get passes to the Media Center
from subject teachers to work on specific assignments. There is
a full collection of reference books in all subjects and some
computers are available for use. Additionally, the Media Center
is open after school most days until 3:00 pm.
Case Conference: Parents and
guardians can request a meeting which includes all teachers,
parents, the student’s counselor, and often the student, to
discuss recent progress. Times for CC’s are either at 7:20 am
or 2:10 pm.
